On Sunday November 11th, the #14 St. Bonaventure Bonnies took on the #10 Kutztown Golden Bears. It was a fast paced game with senior prop and vice captain Kyle Ciquera scoring for the Bonnies in the first two minutes, but Kutztown would answer shortly after in the third minute. The first half went back and forth for both teams, but Kutztown went into halftime up 33-20. The Bonnies came out firing in the second half with an intercept by freshman lock Grant Gutchall, which he offloaded to senior lock Yohendy Martinez for a try. Kutztown would go on to score three quick tries. The Bonnies did not give up and scored the last two tries of the game. The final score was St. Bonaventure 39 and Kutztown 52.
This weekend, on November 17th, the Bonnies will travel to Fairfield University to take on the #12 Iona Gaels. These teams haven't met in two years, but have been proving themselves to the rugby world in their own ways and have quite a history playing each other. The Gaels have won the past three matchups against the Bonnies, but St. Bonaventure will look to change that this Saturday.
