MAAC Releases Men's Lacrosse Tournament Changes

MAAC Release

EDISON, N.J. – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Council of Presidents has announced playoff modifications to several sports including men's lacrosse for 2020-21.

Following the alterations, the entire eight-team MAAC men's lacrosse field will be eligible for the conference tournament this season. The quarterfinal round will be set for Friday, April 30 with the higher seed hosting each matchup. Semifinals are slated for Wednesday, May 5 with higher seeds again earning hosting rights while the Championship Game will take place Saturday, May 8 at the site of the highest remaining seed. The league has one caveat to those rules – with Detroit Mercy leaving the MAAC at the end of the season, the Titans will not act as a host throughout the championship and the lower seed would host any matchups involving Detroit Mercy.

St. Bonaventure has four remaining regular season games remaining – three coming at home against Manhattan (April 2), Marist (April 9) and Siena (April 24) and one road contest at Canisius (April 6).
