The St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse team hosts its first game on home turf in almost two full calendar years when Quinnipiac visits the Marra Athletics Complex Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3. The Bonnies defeated Quinnipiac in the first game of the season, 13-6, on the road in a game that did not count toward MAAC conference standings, but Saturday's contest will be a conference game.

The Bonnies led wire-to-wire in an impressive season-opening 13-6 victory at Quinnipiac March 6.

The win was the first in program history for the Bonnies since the rebirth of the program in the spring of  2019.

Third-year attack Austin Blumbergs was on target all day on the offensive end with six total points, connecting on three goals and handing out three assists to power the Bonnies scoring effort. Jake Rosa added five points of his own with two goals and three assists and Sean Westley netted four points with a pair of goals and assists.

In the net, Brett Dobson shut down the Bobcats all afternoon with 14 total saves.

744 - St. Bonaventure's last true home game came 744 days ago - April 9, 2019, vs. Canisius.

7 - Jake Rosa established a new program single-game record with seven points in last week's game at Monmouth. He passed Austin Blumbergs' six points from the season-opener at Quinnipiac.

1 - The Bonnies suffered a heartbreaker in their last time out, dropping a 13-12 nailbiter at Monmouth last Saturday.

15 - Rosa leads the Bonnies with 15 total points on the year - six goals and nine assists, leading the team in all categories. He leads the MAAC in assists per game (3) and ranks second among all conference players in points per game as well (5).

41.7% - Bona is converting power play opportunities at over a 41 percent clip (5-for-12).

57.1% - Dobson's 57.1% save percentage ranks fourth among MAAC goalies this season.

4 - Sean Westley has posted four goals and four assists, ranking third on the team in goals and second in assists.

The Bobcats were selected to finish fourth in the MAAC preseason poll, but have only played one game thus far this season - the opener vs. the Bonnies. Quinnipiac was forced to pause team activities due to a positive COVID-19 test result March 10.

Senior Jake Tomsik and junior Will Abbott were both named to the Preseason All-MAAC teams. Tomsik was a 2020 MAAC Co-Preseason Player of the Year, entering the year with 121 career points.

Quinnipiac went 5-2 in the MAAC during the 2019 campaign, reaching the MAAC Championship Game. Against the Bonnies March 6, Tomsik scored two goals while Nick DiMuccio made seven saves in the cage.

This week's game starts a string of three straight home contests as the Bonnies will welcome Manhattan (April 3) and Marist (April 10) at the Marra Athletics Complex.
