Four teams will coverge on Denver, Co. for the annual Faceoff Classic hosted by the University of Denver. Along with the host team, St. Bonaventure, Air Force and Cleveland State will play in four games this weekend on campus at Denver.
St. Bonaventure makes the trip to the Bluegrass State for a Saturday afternoon tussle at Bellarmine in Louisville. Bona has one game in the books after opening the year with a 15-8 setback vs. Saint Joseph's in Orchard Park last weekend while the Knights already have three games in, going 1-2 after starting the year with close losses at Utah (16-10) and Marquette (11-10) before breaking through in their home opener vs. Hampton on Monday, 21-5.
St. Bonaventure men's lacrosse freshman attack Jake Rosa has earned Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week honors following his debut performance this weekend, conference officials announced.
Freshman Jake Rosa made his collegiate debut one to remember, tying a program record by scoring four times. In the end, though, it would be Saint Joseph’s that would take a 15-8 victory Sunday afternoon at the ADPRO Training Center.
The Canadian Lacrosse Association has announced a roster of 23 men’s players that will travel to Maryland to take on the U.S. national team and reigning NCAA champion Virginia in the U.S. Lacrosse Fall Classic Oct. 18-20. That roster will be particularly interesting to St. Bonaventure fans as Bonnies head coach Randy Mearns will again lead Team Canada and one of his SBU goalkeepers, Brett Dobson will also be on the Canadian roster.

It was a busy second official week of the academic years for the St. Bonaventure athletic teams with men's and women's soccer in action, the golf season getting underway and all of the teams banding together to help a special cause.
