Though competitions are a bit few and far between this summer due to pandemic concerns, a pair of Bonnies golfers have still had an opportunity to shine.
Rising senior Christian Chapman won the Country Club of Rochester Invitational June 6. Chapman birdied the second playoff hole to take the victory over Jack Gianniny, brother to current Bonnies teammate Danny Gianniny and his former teammate while at Delaware.
It was not Chapman's first win in the event – he also won two summers ago as well. He's fresh off a season where he posted a scoring average of 72.4 as well as three top-10 finishes in five tournaments with the Bonnies.
On the other side of the country, rising senior Jack Geise shot 1-under in the Southern California qualifier at Goose Creek Golf Club on June 30 to be a second alternate in the California Amateur Championship at Torrey Pines.
A native of San Diego, Geise had a season scoring average of 75.8 this year and won the 2018 Little Three Championship for the Bonnies.
