NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Danny Gianniny and senior Brent Morgan each captured top-10 finishes to lead the St. Bonaventure golf team to sixth-place overall at the Yale Spring Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Saturday's event was a play six, count five scores, 36-hole tournament that saw the Bonnies post team scores of 363-360 for a 723 total. Yale won its host event with a winning final score of 711, five strokes ahead of second-place Bucknell (716) while Penn (717), Siena (718) and Harvard (719) rounded out the top five ahead of St. Bonaventure in the 12-team field.

Gianniny showed the way for the Bonnies, posting an even-par 70 in the morning round before carding a 1-under 69 in the final 18. His 139 total was good for fifth on the individual leaderboard out of 72 competitors and his best effort of the spring.

Morgan was just behind. The senior registered his seventh top-15 finish in 10 full field tournaments this year with another solid day. He finished in a tie for sixth overall after matching rounds of even-par 70 for a 140 total.

Freshman Erik Stauderman had a nice bounce back day. The first-year Bonnies player struggled a bit in the morning with a 77, but responded with a 1-over 71 in the afternoon for a day's work of 148 and a tie for 36th overall.

Senior Matt Abendroth (76-73/149) and junior Zach Chaddock (79-77/156) were also in the team scoring for the Bonnies.

Sophomore transfer student Christian Chapman made his Bonnies debut after joining the program from Delaware for the spring semester. An injury has cost him the majority of the spring season and limited him to just one round on Saturday, but he impressed with an even-par 70 during the morning.

The Bonnies now set their sights on the Atlantic 10 Championship which will be held April 26-28 at Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando, Fla.
