ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure golf head coach Ryan Swanson has announced the addition of Jack Bailey to the program with the signing of a National Letter of Intent.
Bailey, who will be a freshman when the fall semester begins, is a product of Pittsford, N.Y. A four-year varsity starter at McQuaid Jesuit, he helped Section V to capture its second consecutive team state championship this past June at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell. Bailey was the top finisher for Section V, taking third overall with a 146. He shot a 75 in the first round before firing the third-lowest round of the day on the final afternoon with an even-par 71.
"We are really excited that Jack chose to be a Bonnie. He is terrific on and off the golf course and is exactly the type of student-athlete that we are looking for," Swanson said. "We wish him good luck as he enters his senior season and look forward to welcoming him to campus in August."
He was named the 2018 All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year and is a two-time All-Greater Rochester selection entering his senior season.
Bailey joins fellow NLI signees Andrew LaCongo and Lance Sininger who previously committed to join the program for next year.
The Bonnies recently finished third in the Atlantic 10 Match Play Championship to start the spring season after a fall campaign that saw the team win twice.
