ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure golf team swept the Atlantic 10 weekly awards with junior Brent Morgan winning Golfer of the Week honors while freshman Danny Gianniny picked up top rookie accolades, conference officials announced Friday.

Morgan, a native of Coal Grove, Ohio, receives the recognition after one of the best individual performances in recent Bonnies memory this week. He set career bests for individual finish and 54-hole score as he took a tie for second at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate with rounds of 71-71-69 for a 1-over par 211. For the week he drained 12 birdies and added an eagle, helping the Bonnies to an eighth place team finish out of 24 teams at the event while rising to the top of a leaderboard including 127 competitors. This week marked Morgan's fourth top-15 finish of the season.

Morgan's 211 total ranks as the fourth-best 54-hole score in program history and the best by any Bonnies player since 2008. His 1-under final round of 69 on Tuesday was just one stroke off his career best of 68 set last September.

Gianniny, a product of Pittsford, N.Y., wins the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week award for the fourth time this season and for the second week in a row. He tied for 26th at the Kingsmill event after carding rounds of 75-71-75/221. He bookended his tournament with rounds of 5-over par, but recorded a 1-over 71 in the middle. He continues to be a source of consistency in the Bonnies lineup as he has not posted a round over 75 in six rounds thus far in the spring while taking his fifth top-30 finish of the year.

Gianniny becomes the first Bonnies player to win Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week recognition four times in a season since Jay Lindell did so during the 2001-02 campaign, tying for most in program history. Both current senior Corey Long and assistant coach Josh Stauffer picked up the honors three times in 2014-15 and 2012-13 respectively. Gianniny shares this week's top rookie honors with Clifford Thompson of George Washington who also tied for 26th at Kingsmill on the individual leaderboard.

This week marks the first Golfer and Rookie of the Week honors in the same week by Bonnies since Long and Zach Chaddock swept the weekly awards on Oct. 6, 2016.

The Bonnies are back in action April 7-8 at the Towson Invitational at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, MD.
