Stauffer Earns Second A-10 Rookie of the Week Honor

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – St. Bonaventure's Josh Stauffer has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Golf Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Stauffer earns the honor following a fourth-place finish among the 79 participants at the Binghamton University Fall Invitational, which wrapped up Monday at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, N.Y. The Bradford, Pa. native carded a 1-over par 145 (72-73) during the 36-hole event, leading the Bonnies to a seventh-place finish out of 16 teams.

Stauffer collected his fourth top-10 finish and fifth top-15 finish this fall at Binghamton. Among Stauffer's other top finishes, he won co-medalist honors at SBU's Leo Keenan Invitational, tied for third place at the Little Three Invitational and tied for sixth at the Cornell Invitational.

Stauffer's first A-10 Rookie of the Week honor came on Sept. 12 after his third-place showing at the Little Three Invitational and a 14th-place finish at the Navy Fall Classic. The freshman has registered a 74 or lower in eight of 10 rounds this fall and has finished as the Bonnies' low scorer in all but one tournament.

St. Bonaventure concludes its fall season Oct. 21-23 at the Old Dominion University/Kilmarlic Collegiate in Powells Point, N.C.
