NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The St. Bonaventure men's basketball team will again take center stage in the Atlantic 10 ESPN Friday Night Showcase thanks to a schedule adjustment announced by conference officials Friday afternoon.
St. Bonaventure's game vs. Duquesne originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 16 has been moved to Friday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Reilly Center. The game will be broadcast live nationally on ESPN2 and replaces the originally slated Saint Louis vs. Davidson game that has been postponed due to the Billikens being on a COVID-related pause.
The move gives the Bonnies 10 nationally televised games during Atlantic 10 play this season including three on ESPN broadcast networks. Bona's Feb. 28 home game vs. Dayton will air live on ESPNU while its Jan. 23 game at Saint Louis will be broadcast on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.
The Bonnies vs. Dukes series has been an entertaining one, especially in recent seasons. This year's matchup will be the 125th meeting all-time between the rivals, the most games the Bonnies have played against any conference opponent. Last year, the teams split their home-and-home series with two very exciting contests as the Bonnies prevailed, 83-80, outside Pittsburgh before the Dukes earned revenge with an overtime win at The RC.
