It had been a few years since he last stepped foot in the building.
In that time he had played at the highest level of his sport and the game had taken him to places around the world.
Still, the shots went in like no time had passed at all: Swish. Swish. Swish.
Some things never change.
Andrew Nicholson returned home to the Reilly Center, the place where he helped revitalize the Bonnies basketball program through over 2,000 career points, an Atlantic 10 Player of the Year honor and, most importantly, a conference championship and NCAA Tournament bid as a senior.
During his return trip in February, he had a workout on The RC court for old times' sake and, at the Bona win over GW, was formally honored as a member of the program's Centennial Season All-Time Team.
"There's so much history here. To be able to be mentioned alongside those other names (jerseys retired alongside his No. 44 in the RC rafters) is a blessing," he said. "In coming here, my goal was to be part of a program that was rebuilding, to be able to leave my footprint and revive the program. It was an honor to help revitalize the program."
