Stockard Named Preseason To All-Conference Second Team; Bonnies Picked Ninth In A-10

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure senior forward Courtney Stockard was named to the Atlantic 10's Preseason All-Conference second team as part of the conference's annual Media Day, which was held Tuesday at Barclays Center. St. Bonaventure, which returns two starters from last year's NCAA Tournament squad, was picked to finish ninth in the A-10 this year.

Saint Louis was chosen to win the A-10 with 15 first place votes and 348 points. Saint Joseph's was picked second while third place Davidson and fourth place George Mason also garnered first place votes along with the Hawks.

Last year, the Bonnies finished 26-8 overall and finished second in the Atlantic 10 with a 14-4 mark. The 26 wins set a school record.

The preseason mention is the first of Stockard's career. The St. Louis, Mo., native is the Bonnies' leading returning scorer, coming off a season in which he averaged 13.3 points along with 6.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. The 2017-18 campaign was the first in the Brown and White for Stockard, who missed all of the previous two seasons due to foot injuries.

Saint Louis teammates Javon Bess and Jordan Goodwin, La Salle's Pookie Powell, Eric Williams from Duquesne and Rhode Island guard Jeff Dowtin are also on the preseason All-Conference second team along with Stockard.

St. Bonaventure's season opener is Nov. 7 at the Reilly Center against Bucknell, which also made the NCAA Tournament last season. Bonnies season tickets are now on sale.
