After an All-Star season in Australia, 2013 St. Bonaventure graduate Demitrius Conger has signed an NBA Summer League contract with the Boston Celtics.
This past year, Conger played for the Illawarra Hawks, a National Basketball League club based in New South Wales, Australia. The 6-6 shooting guard averaged 19.7 points per game and was second in the voting for NBL Most Valuable Player.
As reported by NBL Media, Conger will join the Celtics this week as they prepare for the NBA's Summer League in Las Vegas. Boston's first game is July 6 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Conger was a starter on St. Bonaventure's 2011-12 club that won the Atlantic 10 Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. In his senior season, Conger was the only A-10 player to lead his team in scoring, rebounding and assists. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native graduated in 2013 after scoring 1,206 career points.
