Throughout the summer, GoBonnies.com will feature interviews with members of the St. Bonaventure men's basketball team and their preparation for the 2017-18 season during off-season workouts. Our next Summer Session features senior Matt Mobley.

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - For a year after transferring into the program, there was a buzz around the arrival of Matt Mobley to St. Bonaventure.

Forced to sit out the 2015-16 season due to NCAA transfer rules, when Mobley hit the court last year he didn't disappoint.

Instantly forming one of the best backcourt duos in the nation along with Jaylen Adams, Mobley ranked fourth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring at 18.5 points per game. He was an ironman for the program, standing fourth in the nation in minutes per game at 38.3. His 85 made three-pointers are fifth-most in school single season history and his return, along with fellow seniors Adams and Idris Taqqee along with a talented core of underclassmen, have the Bonnies bringing high expectations into the new year.

Now with one more year left in a Bonnies uniform, Mobley is working to again make waves on the national stage in 2017-18.

Yourself and Jaylen Adams are one of the best backcourt duos in the nation. What is your chemistry like on the court?
We are always together and we always know where we want the ball on the court. We have great chemistry on the court; we know what we are looking for out there. It has been great playing with him.

Who has been the most impressive of your teammates during summer workouts?
There's a lot of options. I would say Amadi though. He's always working hard, in the weight room after hours. He's been impressive.

What are you working on during the off-season?
Just getting better. I'm working on everything the coaching staff is asking me to work on, ball-handling, shooting. Just getting ready to help my teammates win games.

Is your mindset any different this offseason than a year ago?
I would say my mindset is different because it is my senior year, there's one last year to do it. This should be a pretty good year for us and it is definitely important to me.

Take any summer courses?
Yes, a senior forum class and an internship.

What are personal goals you have for this season?
I don't really have any personal goals, I keep all of my goals team-oriented. I just want to go hard and help the team win.

There are some pretty big expectations for this season, is that something you guys talk about?
We talk about it a lot. We know the buzz around town and we are ready for it. We tell each other that we just have to get to work and make it a good year. We have three senior captains and we know what's at stake. We're ready to get to it.
