Richmond Takes Series Rubber Game

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Richmond pulled away during the middle innings to secure a series victory in the rubber game of an Atlantic 10 set over the St. Bonaventure baseball team Sunday afternoon, 9-3.

A scoreless game through three, the Spiders (23-17-1, 9-6 A-10) took control with three runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth.

St. Bonaventure (9-24, 5-10) got a run back in the bottom of the third on a fielder's choice and throwing error for a 3-1 score, but would never get any closer.

Sam Fuller posted his sixth triple of the year in the ninth and scored on a Matthew Williams groundout before Tyler Kelder drove his sixth home run of the season to end the scoring.

Casey Vincent started and surrendered three earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in his six innings on the hill.

The Bonnies are back in action Tuesday afternoon at Binghamton for a single game beginning at 4 p.m.
