ITHACA, N.Y. – Four runs in the first three innings set the tone for the Cornell Big Red Tuesday afternoon in an 8-1 non-conference victory over the St. Bonaventure baseball team.

From there, Cornell (6-13, 2-4 Ivy) never looked back behind a strong pitching performance from starter Luke Yacinich. The right-hander worked six scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out six.

The Bonnies (5-13) got their lone run in the seventh on a single up the middle from Kevin Koziol, plating Jeff Palczewski.

Jake Foden also posted two hits for the Bonnies while Sam Fuller singled and stole a base.

Casey Vincent started and worked five innings (5.0 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 3 K) while Michael Krauza (2.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K) and Brian Pulli (1.0 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 1 K) followed in relief.

Austin Flematti and Will Simoneit each had two RBIs for Cornell.

The Bonnies next head to Penn State Wednesday night, with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
