Bats Go Cold, Bonnies Fall 8-0 To Miami (OH) In Series Finale

OXFORD, Ohio – Brandon Henshaw had two hits and Sam Fuller added a double, but the St. Bonaventure University baseball team could not overcome an early six-run deficit against Miami (OH), falling 8-0, Sunday afternoon on the road.

The RedHawks jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back.

Cole Andrews walked to bring the first run of the game home. A two RBI single down the left field line and an RBI double to the left-center field gap brought the lead to, 4-0. Miami (OH) added two more runs in the inning on a fielding error, pushing its lead to 6-0.

An RBI single in the third and a sacrifice fly in the fifth made the score, 8-0, in favor of the RedHawks.

Casey Vincent earned the start, working four innings and striking out three. Ben Contento tossed four innings in relief also striking out three opposing hitters.

The Bonnies are back in action Tuesday, March 19 when they make their spring debut at Fred Handler Park at 3:00 p.m. against Bucknell.
