PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – The St. Bonaventure baseball team wrapped up its time in Florida with a disappointing finish, 17-3, vs. Central Connecticut State Sunday afternoon at the Snowbird Classic.

The Blue Devils (3-3) scored four runs without the aid of a hit in the first inning to set the tone for the rest of the day.

St. Bonaventure (1-6) got a run back in the home half of the first as Sam Fuller led off with a single, stole second and later came home on a wild pitch.

The Bonnies kept CCSU mostly quiet though the middle innings, with just a run across in the fourth, but the Blue Devils would blow the game open with four in the sixth and five more runs in the eighth.

Jeff Palczewski posted two hits and an RBI for the Bonnies. Brandon Henshaw also drove home a run.

Joshua Pittman had the best pitching performance of the day for the Bonnies (5.0 IP, 3 ER, 5 H, 1 K).

Now the Bonnies will return home before traveling to Miami (OH) for a three-game weekend series beginning Friday at 5 p.m.
