Bonnies Baseball 2019 Schedule Revealed

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The 2019 St. Bonaventure baseball schedule features 16 home games and 47 total contests with the campaign kicking off March 2.

To begin the year, the Bonnies will make their annual trip to Port Charlotte, Fla. for seven games in the first week of March. St. Bonaventure is slated to face Villanova, Mount St. Mary's, Western Michigan and Central Connecticut St. before heading north.

After a three-game non-conference road series at Miami (OH) March 15-17, the Bonnies have their final non-conference tune-up and first home game of the season as they host Bucknell for a single game March 19.

The 24-game Atlantic 10 schedule opens with a trip to Fordham March 22-24 and the Bonnies play their first home conference games of the year March 29-31 vs. La Salle.

Other home A-10 series at Fred Handler Park include Dayton (April 5-7), Richmond (April 26-28) and Davidson (May 16-17).

In conference play the Bonnies will also travel to Saint Louis (April 12-14), Saint Joseph's (May 3-5) and George Washington (May 10-12).

The Bonnies will also host Little Three rival Niagara for an April 16 mid-week doubleheader and the home schedule also features a single game vs. Cornell on May 7 in the second half of a home-and-home series with the Big Red.

St. Bonaventure is scheduled to make non-conference trips to Cornell (April 2), Penn State (April 3), Niagara (April 9), Youngstown State (April 24) and Binghamton (April 30). During the Atlantic 10 bye week for the Bonnies, the team will travel to James Madison for a three-game series April 18-20.

Head coach Larry Sudbrook, who claimed his 700th career win last season, enters the year as the winningest coach in Atlantic 10 baseball history. He oversees a team that returns 18 players who saw action a year ago including seniors Mike Magnanti (.321 batting average, .422 on-base), Sam Fuller (.282, 13 stolen bases), Ryan O'Connor (.278, .357 on-base) and Brandon Henshaw (19 RBIs) as well as junior Jeff Palczewski (.278, 19 RBIs) in the field. On the mound, pitchers Casey Vincent (4-3, 3.88 ERA), Donovan Moffat (2-2, 4.15), Braydon Nelson (1-3, 4.45) and Brian Pulli (4.97) will again see large roles while senior Ben Contento and redshirt junior James Wetter along with junior Murphy O'Brien have all been innings eaters for the program for multiple seasons.

For the first time, the Bonnies will have numerous games broadcast on the ESPN+ platform when the 2019 season rolls around. A complete broadcast schedule will be released after the New Year.
