The St. Bonaventure baseball team will play host to Binghamton in a non-conference single nine inning game Tuesday afternoon at Fred Handler Park. The teams will renew their yearly series with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m.

The Bonnies and Bearcats have met every year since 2013 and Binghamton has held the upper hand in those meetings. Binghamton has won five straight in the series with the last Bona win coming during the 2013 season. Last year, the teams were tied 6-6 heading for the last of the ninth when Justin Drpich drilled a walk-off grand slam with one out to send the Bearcats to victory.

St. Bonaventure split a doubleheader vs. George Washington this past Friday before the Colonials were able to take the rubber game on Saturday, 11-4. The Bonnies led 2-0 early in game one, but GW would score once in the third and a run each in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth innings to take control. Brandon Schlimm was solid on the mound with five strikeouts in eight innings. In the nightcap, the Bonnies erased a 3-0 deficit early and rallied behind a double from Alex Schutz that scored two runs and three RBIs from Jeff Palczewski for the win. Casey Vincent picked up the victory with 7.1 solid innings on the mound and James Wetter threw scoreless frames of relief in both games.

Binghamton enters Tuesday's game with an 11-25-1 overall record including a 7-11 mark in the America East Conference, but have struggled on the road where they are 6-18-1. A year ago, the Bearcats won 30 games to win the America East regular season crown. This year, BU has struggled a bit offensively with a .239 team batting average and one player hitting .300 – Luke Tevlin. Paul Rufo leads the team with 20 RBIs. On the mound, the team has compiled a 4.97 staff ERA.
