PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. – Villanova rallied in the seventh inning to push past the St. Bonaventure baseball team, 5-2, in non-conference action Friday afternoon.
St. Bonaventure drops to 11-9-1 overall on the year while Villanova is now 10-17.
Villanova grabbed a 1-0 lead in the second, but the Bonnies rallied.
A three-run seventh put Villanova ahead for good, however. The Wildcats did all of their damage with two outs as Todd Czinege tied the game with a double to the gap in right center and then Max Beermann drilled a two-run homer to move ahead.
Villanova added a run of insurance on a wild pitch in the eighth.
Terashima went 3-for-5 out of the leadoff spot as the Bonnies finished with nine hits on the day.
Hunter Schryver (3-2) got the win for Nova, allowing just one earned run in seven innings. Woody Bryson picked up his first save by recording the final four outs.
The two teams will finish their three-game series Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. The weekend schedule was changed due to inclement weather in the forecast with Saturday's action becoming a doubleheader while the contest scheduled for Sunday has been cancelled.
