All interviews with St. Bonaventure student-athletes, coaches and administrative staff must be coordinated through the Athletics Communications Office.
COVID-19 POLICIES: Due to the pandemic and the desire to reduce contact, media interviews, with rare exception, will need to be conducted virtually, either via Zoom, phone call or email reply.
During the 2020-21 academic year, no off-campus media will be permitted to film at SBU Athletics practices. Student media may film from the following areas: For outdoor facilities, the platforms around the Marra Athletic Complex, Joyce Field and Handler Park (there are two platforms outside the Marra Complex. Platforms at Handler Park are down the first and third base lines as well as in centerfield. A centerfield platform is also available at Joyce Field). For the Reilly Center, student media may film from the red seats in the upper bowl of the arena. Students must confirm the date/time they wish to film with the proper Athletics Communications sport contact. (The weight room and strength & conditioning outdoor tent areas are off-limits to all media members)
All media and students should include the following in a press request:
- Organization you are representing
- List of 3-4 possible questions & topic for whomever they wish to interview
- Deadline for your interview to be held to hit story deadline
- Available times/days you are able to conduct the interview
On game days, student-athletes will not be available for interviews until post-game. Press conferences for men's and women's basketball will take place after the NCAA-mandated 10-minute cooling off period. Head coaches and players will be made available to answer questions upon request. For all other sports, coaches and athletes will be made available by request after the cooling off period. Members of the media wishing to speak to a player or coach should notify a member of the Athletics Communications Office prior to the end of the game. All St. Bonaventure locker rooms are closed to the media. Men's and women's basketball press conferences will be held post-game via Zoom during the 2020-21 season. Contact Scott Eddy (email@example.com) for links to men's basketball press conferences and Dylan Nuzzo (firstname.lastname@example.org) for women's basketball press conferences.
On non-game days, interviews must be coordinated through the Athletics Communications Office at least 24 hours in advance. A student-athlete's phone number and/or email address will not be released unless that student-athlete grants permission. Student-athletes will not be asked to miss class time. The Athletics Communications Office will do its best to provide an interview time that is mutually convenient for both the player/coach and the media representative.
For all St. Bonaventure men's and women's basketball games, credential requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the game. Late requests will be handled according to space limitations. All credentials can either be picked up at the Athletics Communications Office (Reilly Center 108) or can be picked up at the will-call window for men's basketball and will-call table for women's basketball. *Please note - credential procedures for the 2020-21 season are subject to change based upon state guidelines and Atlantic 10 COVID-19 safety protocols.
St. Bonaventure's official athletics website is filled with up-to-the minute statistics, scores and game stories as well as team rosters, schedules, player and coach profiles and information for all 17 sports. St. Bonaventure University's home page can be located at www.sbu.edu.
