ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure Athletics has partnered with the Genesis House of Olean to help members of the local community in need.
Throughout the month of February, St. Bonaventure men's basketball head coach Mark Schmidt, women's basketball head coach Jesse Fleming and Paul Brown Motors have agreed to donate $1 for every free throw made by each team to the Genesis House.
The Genesis House provides meals and shelter to those in need around the Olean area. The organization provides safe, temporary housing to the homeless, mentoring and mental health counseling for guests, nutritious meals, and a volunteer physician who provides medical support for those without insurance. Genesis House staff also provide encouragement and help toward guests regaining their independence. All participants who complete the Genesis House program obtain safe affordable housing, medical care, children placed back in school and more.
The Bonnies are asking fans to follow the lead of Coaches Schmidt and Fleming as well as Paul Brown Motors by making a donation to the Genesis House during this month.
