NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A total of 247 St. Bonaventure student-athletes have earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for their success academically during the past year, conference officials announced Tuesday.
That total marks an all-time high for the University and represents nearly 80 percent of St. Bonaventure's Atlantic 10 athletes, also an SBU record.
To qualify for the Commissioner's Honor Roll a student-athlete must have a 3.0 year-long GPA and compete in an A-10 sponsored sport. Freshmen and graduate students are eligible. Only Atlantic 10 sponsored sport athletes were included in the list so no members from men's lacrosse are eligible as that program is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Every St. Bonaventure program had impressive representation, led by women's lacrosse with 37 student-athletes, men's soccer (26), women's soccer (25), baseball (22), softball (22), women's cross country/track (21), men's swimming and diving (21), men's cross country/track (19) and women's swimming and diving (18).
