ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Five St. Bonaventure teams recently earned NCAA Public Recognition Awards for academic excellence after scoring in the top 10 percent nationally of their sports in the most recent Academic Progress Report (APR).
Golf, men's track, women's cross country, women's lacrosse and women's track all earned perfect multiyear scores through the 2018-19 academic year.
The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in every sport.
For the golf team led by head coach Ryan Swanson, the Bonnies have achieved a perfect APR and NCAA recognition in six straight years.
The women's cross country team guided by head coach Bob MacFarlane has earned NCAA accolades in four consecutive years while the track program has picked up NCAA honors in each of the past two seasons it has been eligible after the program was officially reborn in 2017.
The most recent APRs are multi-year rates based on scores from the 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.
