The GoBonnies.com Athletes of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending Sept. 22 are men's soccer senior Jacob Dyck and women's cross country junior Samantha Henry.
Dyck helped lead the Bonnies to a 1-1 week, including a 3-0 win over Canisius last Tuesday.
A Mississauga, Ontario native, Dyck found Isaac Boamah streaking down the left side of the field and Boamah found the back of the net to open the Bona scoring against Canisius. For Dyck, it was his first assist of the season. In the closing minutes of the contest, Dyck found slotted one home in the 80th minute for his first goal of the season.
Dyck finished the week with seven total shots and four shots on goal. He is St. Bonaventure's active points leader. The Bonnies return to action Tuesday night at Niagara and travel to Fordham on Saturday.
Henry helped lead the Bonnies to a third place finish at the Anderson Invitational in Rochester over the weekend by finishing 15 out of over 200 competitors. She set a personal record with a time of 19:42.4 – the fastest 5K time of the season for the Bonnies.
It was the first time during her career that she has led the team in a race, though she has finished in Bona's top six in every event she has competed in during her collegiate career.
The Bonnies are off until Oct. 5 when they head to the Bluegrass State for a trip to the Louisville Classic at the University of Louisville.
