NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - A total of 190 St. Bonaventure student-athletes have earned spots on the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for their success in the classroom during the past academic year, conference officials announced.
The total matches last year's University high and represents 63 percent of the St. Bonaventure student-athletes who compete in Atlantic 10 sponsored sports.
Designed to recognize excellence in the classroom, this is the second consecutive year the Commissioner's Honor Roll has been awarded following a full year. Previously the award was granted following each semester. To be selected for the Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete in an Atlantic 10-sponsored sport must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Freshmen and graduate students are eligible to receive the award.
The Bonnies tied for the Atlantic 10 lead for number of representives in baseball (24), softball (20) and golf (9). Other Bonnies sports that were well-represented are women's lacrosse (21), men's cross country/track (16), women's swimming and diving (16), women's soccer (16), men's swimming and diving (14), women's cross country/track (14), men's soccer (13) and men's tennis (7).
