AKRON, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure University women's tennis team suffered a defeat to UW Milwaukee at Akron, falling 5-2.
In No. 2 singles, Gabriella Bowe earned a hard-fought victory in three sets over her opponent. Bowe dropped the first set but then rallied and took the second set, 6-3 and then the third set, 6-1, giving her the edge.
In No. 3 singles, Clara Herberts picked up a strong win in two sets over her opponent, 6-4, 6-2.
In No. 2 doubles, the pair of Kahlei Reisinger and Herberts earned a decisive 6-3 win over their opponents.
Mara Martinez-Santori and Bowe had a chance to come out on top in No. 1 doubles to help the Bonnies toward the doubles point, but narrowly fell, 7-5.
Up next, the Brown and White will return home to take on Atlantic 10 rival Dayton at the St. Bonaventure Fitness Center on Saturday.
