Bonnies take both weekend matches on the road
The St. Bonaventure women's tennis team won both their matches this weekend at Albany and Siena, improving their record to 9-5 on the season.
On Friday, the Bonnies defeated Albany 4-3. The teams of senior Manuela Marin-Salcedo and freshman Fatya Amiri and junior Kathryn Kvas and sophomore Kathryn Kvas won their doubles matches 8-2 and 8-5 respectively. Freshman Marissa Brossard, Amiri and Kvas each won their singles matches by scores of 6-1, 6-2; 6-0, 7-5; and 6-1, 6-2.
In a 6-1 victory In a 6-1 victory against Siena on Saturday, the teams of Amiri and Marin-Salcedo and Kvas and sophomore Andrea Pavlovic won doubles matches by scores of 8-1 and 8-5. Junior Amanda Pallikunnel, Amiri, Brossard, Kvas and Marin-Salcedo won their singles matches 6-1, 6-4; 6-1, 6-2; 6-0, 6-0; 6-4, 7-5 and 7-5, 6-4.
The team will play two matches on the road next weekend against Xavier in an Atlantic 10 Conference game Friday at 7 p.m. and Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne Sunday at 9 a.m.
