McCann makes Canadian Olympic trials

MONTREAL ? Freshman Meaghan McCann from Oakville, O.N. is set to swim in the Canadian Olympic trials starting this week. 

The trials will be held in Montreal Quebec with competition starting Tuesday and ending Sunday at the Olympic Park Sport Centre. Preliminaries are at 10 a.m., and the finals are at 7 p.m. each day. Sportsnet will carry finals live each evening. 

McCann finished 9th in both the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard at the Atlantic 10 Championship with times of 56.83 and 2:03.45, respectively. These times were sufficient for her qualification to attend the trials. Her first event swim will take place on Wednesday.
