Bonnies Finish in 10th at Zippy
AKRON OHIO- The St. Bonaventure women's swimming and diving team finished in tenth place at the Zippy Invitational with a total of 331 points.
Freshman Paige Gutowski came in fourth-place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:23.29.
In the 100-yard freestyle "B" finals, sophomore Wendy Oleskiw sprinted to a 15th-place finish with a time of 53.50. In the "C" final, Jeannette Dietrich touched the wall at 53.77 for a 22nd place finish.
Senior Kathryne Valentine came in 15th place in the 200-yard backstroke "B" final, touching in at 2:09.27. Classmate Natalya Ghostlaw placed 15th in the 1650-yard freestyle with at time of 18:02.20.
In the 200-yard butterfly "C" final, freshman Catharine Parker touched the wall at 2:10.41 for a 18th place finish.
In relay action, the 400-yard freestyle "A" team of Dietrich, Gutowski, Oleski and Lenae Petty placed 12th with a time of 3:36.75.
After three days of competition, Ohio University finished first-place with1562 points, followed by Illinois State and Buffalo State University in second and third place, respectively.
The Bonnies return to the pool Friday, December 17 at Canisius. The meet begins at 5:00 p.m.
