Bonnies Split Tri-Meet With La Salle and Duquesne

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The women's swimming and diving team competed in a tri-meet against A-10 rivals Duquesne and La Salle Saturday afternoon at the Flickinger Aquatics Center, defeating Duquesne, 166-129, and falling to La Salle, 198-136.

Freshmen Paige Gutowski had a huge day for the Bonnies. She picked up three first-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard IM. She touched the wall with times of 1:06.15, 2:23.48 and 2:10.05, respectively.

Freshmen Jeanette Dietrich continued to shine for the Brown and White. In the 200-yard freestyle she touched the wall first at 1:55.99. She then picked up two second-place finishes. One came in the 100-yard freestyle and the other came in the 50-yard freestyle where she came in with times of 53.55 and 24.84, respectively.

Senior Natalya Ghostlaw had a big day for the Bonnies. She finished in second place in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:01.53 and in the 500-yard freestyle she touched the wall at 5:12.08, which was good enough for another second-place finish.

Senior Kathryne Valentine picked up a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.50 and a third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.31.

In diving action, Chrysta Currier finished in second place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 179.25 and third-place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 179.80.

The Bonnies return to the Reilly Center Pool for their first home meet of the season against Cleveland State on Saturday, Nov. 13. The meet begins at 1:00 p.m.
