Women’s Swimming and Diving Set To Tangle With Pitt

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The women's swimming and diving team takes on Big East Conference rival Pittsburgh this Saturday.

The Bonnies hope to rebound against a Pitt club that defeated them last season, 254-44.

In that meet, senior Kathryne Valentine claimed third-pace for the Bonnies, touching with a time of 1:01.35 in the 100-yard backstroke.

The Brown and White are coming off competing in the WNY Invitational last weekend in Buffalo, N.Y.

In that invitational, Valentine picked up a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:10.05.

Also, freshman Jeannette Dietrich had a big debut for the Bonnies, picking up two second-place finishes, notching times of 25.0 and 1:57.17 in the 50-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle, respectively.

The Pittsburgh meet will take place at Trees Pool with diving beginning at 11 a.m. and the swimming portion set to start at noon.
