Bonnies Raise $4,000 for JDRF

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure University softball team was among those who helped raise $4,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk for a Cure Oct. 1 on the Allegany River trail.

Liz Threehouse, the wife of Bona softball coach Mike Threehouse, organized the event that featured the Bonnies and members of the community.

Mike (far left) and Liz Threehouse (middle) and assistant softball coach Ona Halladay (far right) presented a check to JDRF Executive Director Karen Swierski (middle right) and Special Events Coordinator Alexandra Kobzo (middle left) at St. Bonaventure on Tuesday.

JDRF's mission is to find a cure diabetes and its complications through the support of research. JDRF is the world's largest charitable funder and advocate of type 1 diabetes research and is responsible for more than $1.4 billion in direct funding since it was founded.

More than 80 percent of JDRF's expenditures directly support research and research-related education. Because of its unwavering focus on its mission to find a cure, JDRF annually receives top rankings from independent sources that rate charitable giving.
