ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Jenna Kasmarik has been named assistant coach of the St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team, head coach Chelsea Rosiek announced.
Kasmarik comes to St. Bonaventure from Lassiter High School in Marietta, Ga., where she served as the offensive coordinator. There, she helped the program improve from a 10-11 season in 2016 to 17-4 this spring.Lassiter won its first region championship and had seven student-athletes named All-State.
In 2015-16, Kasmarik was a graduate assistant coach at Lindenwood (Mo.) University. She helped the Lions to the 2016 NCAA Division II semifinals and a final mark of 17-3. Kasmarik coached four Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division II All-Americans and seven IWLCA All-Region selections.
Kasmarik has also coached with Eagle Stix Lacrosse and was an intern with the Atlanta Blaze, a men's Major League Lacrosse club.
"We are very excited to welcome Jenna to the Bonnies lacrosse family," said Rosiek. "Her on-field experience and acquired accolades at two top-20 D-1 programs will immediately provide our program with impactful insight into our ever-evolving sport. Jenna's success both on the field and in the classroom exemplify the type of athlete we are looking to shape and recruit at Bonaventure as we continue to develop our program."
Kasmarik's playing career was marked by success at both the high school and college levels. A 2015 graduate of Winthrop University, she led the nation in goals with 78 her senior season. The Big South Conference named her its Offensive Player of the Year. Kasmarik scored 67 goals her junior season and led the Eagles to their first NCAA Tournament berth.
Kasmarik began her college career at Johns Hopkins and was a two-time American Lacrosse Conference honor roll selection before transferring to Winthrop.
At Lambert High School in Georgia, Kasmarik was a two-time, first team All-American and was named Atlanta Journal Constitution 2011 Player of the Year.
