Strong Second Half Sends Robert Morris Past #Bonnies

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The Robert Morris Colonials scored six second-half goals to earn a 12-7 win over the St. Bonaventure Bonnies Sunday afternoon.

The two teams battled back-and-forth for the first 30 minutes, going into the break knotted at 6-6.

The Colonials jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with goals from Kerri Sayrafe and Annie Sachs.

LeighAnn Stauffer put the Bonnies on the board at the 23-minute mark to cut the Colonial lead in half. RMU would answer with two more goals to stretch it's lead to 4-1.

Senior Taylor Fallon then took over, scoring two quick goals to pull the Brown and White to within one at 4-3.

The Colonials went on to answer with a goal of their own before back-to-back goals from Scarlet Jaworski and Fallon knotted the score at 5-5.

Stauffer would put the Bonnies ahead with 3:20 to go with her second goal of the game, but RMU would add the equalizer with two minutes left to draw even going into the break.

Unfortunately for St. Bonaventure, the offense stalled in the second half managing only one goal over the final 30 minutes. That goal was scored by senior Rachel Perla ten minutes into the second half.

Robert Morris would net six second-half goals to earn the 12-7 victory.

Taylor Fallon paced the St. Bonaventure offense, scoring three goals. LeighAnn Stauffer chipped in two goals of her own to go along with one assist.

In net, Morgan Conroy faced 23 shots, making 11 saves.

St. Bonaventure drops to 2-5 on the season, while Robert Morris improved to 5-4.

The Bonnies will return to action Wednesday, March 22 when they travel to Vermont for a 2 pm faceoff.
