ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure dropped an 18-11 decision to Mount St. Mary's in women's lacrosse Sunday afternoon at the Marra Athletics Complex.

The Bonnies fell behind 7-1 midway through the first half, and the Mountaineers led 11-2 at halftime.

In the second half, Mikayla Place and Olivia MacDonald scored back-to-back goals to pull St. Bonaventure within six at 13-7, but that was as close as the Bonnies could make it.

While shots in the game were fairly even – the Mount had 38 and the Bonnies 31 – Mount St. Mary's goalie Steph Rutkowski made 11 saves in 39 minutes of action to hold off the Bonnies.

Place led St. Bonaventure with three goals. Rachel Perla, MacDonald and Scarlet Jaworski each tallied two goals, while Taylor Fallon and Rylee Arnold scored once apiece.

St. Bonaventure fell to 2-3 on the season.

Kerrigan Cummins started in goal and allowed seven goals before Morgan Conroy replaced her in the first half. Conroy made six saves and allowed 11 goals.

The Bonnies will compete their three-game homestand on Thursday, March 31, against Niagara. The game is set for a 1:00 start.
