St. Joseph’s Tops @BonniesLax, 11-7

PHILADELPHIA – St. Bonaventure lost 11-7 at Saint Joseph's in Atlantic 10 Conference women's lacrosse action on Friday afternoon.

St. Bonaventure sophomore midfielder LeighAnn Stauffer tied the game at 2-2 at the 14:24 mark of the first half, but the Hawks then rattled off three straight goals to open a 5-2 lead.  Stauffer and Taylor Fallon scored two of the game's next three goals to bring the Bonnies within 6-4 at halftime.

Saint Joseph's took control of the game by scoring four of the first five goals of the second half – three by Julia Falcon. 

Saint Joseph's held Stauffer, the Bonnies' leading goal scorer with 23 on the season, scoreless in the second half.

Falcon led the Hawks with four goals and Kelly Phelan had three. 

Stauffer, Fallon and Lily Timlin each scored two goals while Mikayla Place scored one goal. Bonnies goalie Sara Schlagenhauf recorded four saves.

The Bonnies will remain in Philadelphia to take on LaSalle on Sunday at 11 a.m.
