Bonnies Begin Atlantic 10 Play against Temple on Friday
ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The women's lacrosse team (2-2) will open up their Atlantic 10 Conference play this Friday against Temple (6-3) at 3 p.m. on McGraw-Jennings Field.
The Bonnies return home after a difficult, 20-8 loss to Big 4 rival Canisius last Wednesday. Mackenzie Jordan, Daisy Timlin and Marybeth Madia each scored two goals. Tohnnie Smock and Erin Thomas chipped in with a goal apiece. Sara Schlagenhauf made 5 saves on 17 shots.
Through four games, sophomore attacker Erin Thomas and senior attacker Danielle Drabin share the team lead with 11 points each. Thomas leads the team with nine goals and senior attacker Emily Kane's five assists are a team high.
The Owls come to town following a 17-7 loss at the hands of 14th ranked Towson at home. Stephany Parcell and Jaymie Tabor each scored two goals, Stephanie Markunas assisted on three of Temple's goals.
Markunas leads Temple in scoring with 26 points and a team-high 11 assists. Parcell leads the team in goals scored with 20.
Last season, Temple posted a 7-10 record with a 5-2 conference record. In the last meeting between the two teams on April 17, 2011, the Owls won 14-10. St. Bonaventure last defeated Temple on April 20, 2007.
