Five Lacrosse Players Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y.  – Five members of the St. Bonaventure lacrosse team have been recognized for their performances in the classroom as members of the 2011 IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll announced Monday.

Amanda Cizenski, Catie Greene, Marissa Morrill, Jill Remick and Daisy Timlin each earned the honor and were among 187 student-athletes from 65 institutions nationally to be named to the list.

Students nominated are required to have achieved at least junior status academically. Thirty-three of the student athletes played on teams that advanced to the NCAA tournament.

Cizenski, a senior physical education major, tallied 16 points on 14 goals and a pair of assists during her junior year. Cizenski scored twice in the Bonnies' season finale game against Canisius last season.

Greene, a graduate student studying community mental health counseling, started all 15 games on defense during her final campaign. Selected for the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team in recognition for her 4.0 cumulative grade point average in psychology, Greene is currently a member of the Bona cross country team.

Morrill, a senior elementary education major, saw action in three games her junior year with a career shot percentage of .250 over three seasons.

Remick, a biology major who graduated in May, started in all 15 games last year, leading the team in ground balls (39) and draw controls (32). Named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team, Remick forced 27 turnovers to rank second on the team and help the Bonnies rank third nationally in caused turnovers (164).

Timlin, a senior education major, saw action in nine games her junior year, scoring two goals and adding one assist.
