Callahan Named A-10 Rookie of the Week
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Cara Callahan of the St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team has been selected at the Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Callahan recorded nine goals in two games to lead St. Bonaventure last week. The freshman midfielder scored a career-high seven goals in the A-10 season opener at George Washington but it wasn't enough as the Bonnies fell to the Colonials 18-15. The mark fell one goal shy of the program's single-game record. Callahan, a native of Painted Post, N.Y., then added two more goals at Richmond.
For the season, Callahan leads the Bonnies with 21 goals and ranks second on the team with 24 points.
The Bonnies host Saint Joseph's at 3 p.m. on Friday.
