How It Happened

  • St. Bonaventure grabbed control of the lead within the opening minutes and never looked back, as the Brown and White would stay out in front for the remainder of the afternoon. The Bonnies led by as many as 10 points, propelled by Katie Healy's 21 points, 9 rebounds.
  • The Bonnies got out to an early lead but Colgate never let the Brown and White out of its site. St. Bonaventure was out in front by as many as 10 points in the first half, but a late run by Colgate cut the lead to 4 points heading into halftime.
  • To open up the second half, the Bonnies would continue to chip away and build on their lead once again, but the Raiders were not going away. SBU built up another 10 point lead, before watching Colgate cut the lead to 3 points, 3 different times with less than 4 minutes to go.  That's as close as the Raiders would get, as the Bonnies knocked down all 4 free throw attempts in the final minute to close out the win, compliments of Katie Healy and Emily Michael.

Quote from St. Bonaventure Coach Jim Crowley

"It's really tough to win on the road, and Colgate played a really good game..you could tell how hungry they were for a win as the game went on and we got lost in transition defense and fouled too much.. but at the end of the day, when we needed to make plays we came together and made plays".
