St. Bonaventure – the nation's best road team and Receiving Votes (RV) in the Associated Press Poll for a record fourth time this week – returns to action riding a six-game winning streak as it faces Charlotte in a battle of the only two teams undefeated in Atlantic 10 action.

At 7-0 on the road, the Bonnies are one of only three undefeated teams on the road in the entire nation. No. 1 Baylor (6-0) and No. 12/11 Green Bay (6-0) are the lone other unbeatens away from home in the country, and both of those squads are undefeated overall.

While both the Bonnies and 49ers have perfect 4-0 A-10 records, statistically SBU has played a more difficult schedule to get to its current mark. The combined record of Bona's first four conference opponents is 42-29, while Charlotte's is 27-44. Additionally, the average RPI of those four schools Bonaventure has faced is 103, whereas the 49ers is 210. Three of St. Bonaventure's four league games have been against teams in the top-55 of the RPI, while three of Charlotte's four contests have been against schools ranked 195 or lower.

In last year's meeting with Charlotte, Jessica Jenkins set a program record by knocking down nine 3-pointers en route to an 80-65 Bona win. Chelsea Bowker added five 3's of her own as the Bonnies finished with 16 3's, and that's the most long-range shots made by a single team in the history of an A-10 game.

Jenkins is just five 3-pointers shy of breaking the school, and A-10, record of 291 in a career. The Ohio native has hit exactly five 3's in a game 15 times in her career. With two 3's she will move into sole possession of second place on the program's all-time list (more on pages 10 and 17). Among active players, she is second in the nation with 287 career 3's, trailing only Florida Gulf Coast's Kelsey Jacobson (302).

Bona has the best scoring margin (+11.2) in the A-10 despite ranking just sixth in scoring offense as it averages 63.8 points per contest. Only one school in the entire nation – South Carolina (+14.6) – has a greater scoring margin which averages fewer points per game than Bonaventure.

Already the second-best ball-protecting team in the country at 11.9 giveaways per outing, Bonaventure has been ultra-possessive the last two games as it has turned the ball over just 12 total times – six each game. Additionally, in its last contest against Richmond, three of SBU's six turnovers were offensive fouls.

Bonaventure is 5-0 in games played on Saturdays this year. A win would be the 18th of the campaign, which would tie it with the 2007-08 club for the fourth-most victories in a season in program history.

Also with a victory against the 49ers, the senior class of Jessica Jenkins, Megan Van Tatenhove, Armelia Horton and Jennie Ashton would tie the 2011 senior class as the winningest class in program history with 85 victories.

Bonaventure could earn a record-tying sixth victory in the month of January with still two more games to play. Five other teams in program history (1990-91, 1992-93, 2001-02, 2008-09, 2010-11) have claimed six January wins, but none has ever reached seven. The Brown and White is coming off a December in which it won a program-best seven contests.
