Bonnies head to Northeast Regionals
MADISON, CONN.- Some members of the men and women's cross country teams will travel to Connecticut to participate in Northeast Regionals Friday.
The race will be held at Madison Country Club. Only six members of each team will make the trip. The women's 6k race will start at noon while the men will run their first 10k meet of the season at 1:15.
The men's team will include sophomores Steve Kibbe and Harley Thompson and freshmen Joe Ferencik, Caleb Lecker, Nick Konotopskyj and Kevin Sidoran. The women's team will be composed of freshmen Kerry Caher, Aubrie Rusell and Rachel Dorogi and sophomores Elizabeth Dickinson, Taylor Greene and Hannah Robinson.
Sophomore Nick Masiello and junior Kady Weisner were unable to make the trip due to injuries.
The teams last raced at Atlantic 10 Championships two weeks ago.
The women's team is coming off their first non-last place finish since joining the A-10 26 years ago. Freshman Kerry Caher paced the Bonnies for the fourth meet in a row. Caher was followed by Weisner, freshman Aubrie Russell and sophomore Hannah Robinson. Sophomore Elizaneth Dickinson was the final scorer for the Bonnies
The men's team finished last in the field of 16 at Atlantic 10 Championships two weeks ago. Sophomore Harley Thompson was the first Bonnie through the finish line for the third consecutive race. Freshman Joe Ferencik and sophomore Steven Kibbe were next through for the Bonnies. Sophomore Nick Masiello was forced to drop out of the race due to an injury.
This will be the final meet of the 2012 cross country season for the Bonnies.
