Bonnies Men's Tennis Wins Three Singles Matches, But Falls to Duquesne

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's tennis team suffered a loss at the hands of Duquesne, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon.

In No. 2 singles, Hector Martinez picked up a close victory in straight sets, 7-6, 7-6.

Victor Blanco and Lukas Linden Malmberg both came out on top in their respective matches. Blanco took the first set, 6-2, dropped the second set, but then rallied in the third set to take the win, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. Malmberg dropped the first set in his match but then put in a strong effort to take the final two sets for the win, 5-7, 6-1, 6-3.

In No. 3 doubles, the pair of Guillermo Garcia and John Rutkowski earned a 7-6 win over their opponents.

Up next, St. Bonaventure will return to action on Friday at the St. Bonaventure Fitness Center as they play host to Mercyhurst.
