ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's tennis team fell to Saint Francis (Pa.), 6-1, Saturday morning at the St. Bonaventure Fitness Center.
Lukas Linden Malmberg gave the Bonnies their lone point of the match with a win in No. 5 singles. He worked hard for the victory, taking it in three sets, 6-3, 1-6, 10-4.
In No. 3 singles, Indra Patwardhan forced three sets with a 6-3 victory in the second set, but ultimately fell in set three.
John Rutkowski was close to forcing a third set in No. 6 singles, but dropped set two, 7-5.
In doubles, the pair of Patwardhan and Malmberg gave their opponents a tough match but narrowly fell in No. 2 doubles, 7-5.
Up next, St. Bonaventure will host a pair of Atlantic 10 opponents as Dayton and Duqesne come to town on Saturday and Sunday.
