ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. -- - The St. Bonaventure men's swimming and diving team defeated Duquesne, 163-72, Saturday afternoon at the Reilly Center pool.
Senior Adrian Blaszczak led the way for the Bonnies. Blaszczak took the gold in the 200-indivuidual medley and the 200-yard freestyle in 1:58.02 and 2:10.44, respectively.
Junior Chris Ekimoff also took two events. Ekimoff dominated the long distance events, winning the 1,000 and 500 yard free-style events in 10:01.03 and 4:48.87.
Sophomore Roman Margulis and senior Can Yildizli placed first in two events. Margulis won the 200-yard fly in 1:56.98 while Yildizli took 200-yard free in 1:47.05. The duo teamed up with senior Michal Bogacki and freshman Alex Moniotto win the 400-yard free relay in 3:11.76.
With the win, St. Bonaventure starts the season 1-0.
The Bonnies host Pittsburgh Friday at 1:30 p.m.
