Bonnies Return to the Pool Against A-10 Foe La Salle
The Men's Swimming and Diving team returns to the pool for a dual meet against Atlantic 10 rival La Salle on Saturday.
The meet will take place at Eric Community College with diving starting at 10:30 a.m. and the swimming portion of the meet beginning at 3:30 p.m.
The Bonnies hope to rebound from last year's tightly contested meet, where they fell to La Salle, 168.5-165.5.
Last year, junior Elias Homerin took second place in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:40.18.
In diving, juniors Mike Murphy and Dominic Butts-Ealy teamed up for the second meet in a row to clinch first-place finishes in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives. Murphy took the win in the 1-meter, earning 280.20 points, while Butts-Ealy dominated the 3-meter event with 286.25 points.
The Brown and White are coming off of a loss to Pittsburgh where Homerin continued his dominance in long distance events, taking first-place in the 500-yard freestyle (4:43.71) and the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:46.82). In the 200-yard butterfly he touched the wall with a time of 1:55.13, which earned him a second-place finish.
Freshman Ripley Danner also picked up a few points for the Bonnies, finishing first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:57.52 and earned a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.18.
The Bonnies will return to the pool on Nov. 12 when they travel to Cleveland State to face the Vikings and Valparaiso University. The meet will begin at 1:00 p.m.
