Men Look To De-Throne UMass At A-10s
BUFFALO, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure men's swimming and diving team heads to the Atlantic 10 Championships Feb. 23-26 at the Flickinger Athletic Center.
The Bonnies are coming off their fourth consecutive second-place finish last year and will be looking to knock off four-time defending champion Massachusetts.
During the last year's championships, Ethan Rowan was a big asset to the Brown and White. In the 500-yard freestyle he earned a fifth-place finish, posting a time of 4:36.96. In the 1650-yard freestyle, he posted a time of 15:57.28 and a third-place finish.
Other highlights included Dawid Kundzik picking up a bronze medal for Bonaventure in the 100-yard freestyle, notching a time of 45.70. He also took third in the 100-yard butterfly, touching in at 49.36, while classmate Chris Baker earned a seventh-place finish with a time of 50.63.
Kundzik (6th) and Kevin Murphy (14th) also ended the meet on the list of top-20 individual scorers, having earned 47 and 41 points for the Brown and White, respectively.
St. Bonaventure is hosting the event for the 16th consecutive year. Events begin Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
