Men’s Swimming and Diving Ranked Again In Mid-Major Poll
ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – For the second consecutive month, the men's swimming and diving team is ranked in the CollegeSwimming.com/College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Mid-Major Division I poll.
The Bonnies are ranked No. 19 in the poll with 212.9 points, one spot below their initial No. 18 ranking in November. They are coming off a dominant performance on Friday evening when they broke five pool records at the Koessler Athletic Center en route to defeating Little Three rival Canisius, 171-72.
Navy tops the poll at No. 1 with 253.6 total points, while Massachusetts is the highest ranked Atlantic 10 Conference member at No. 12 with 221.2 points. La Salle is the only other A-10 school ranked, coming in at No. 16. Xavier, Fordham and George Washington are all Receiving Votes.
Cleveland State, which checks in this month at No. 5, is the highest ranked opponent on the Bonnies' schedule. The Vikings came to the Reilly Center Pool earlier this year and left with a slim 136-105 win.
The Bonnies were ranked just once all of last year, when on Nov. 19 they appeared at No. 15, tied with Miami (Ohio).
The team's next meet is over a month away as it will head to Florida from Jan. 4-13 for its annual spring training trip before returning to the RC Pool to face Binghamton on Jan. 21.
